Description

Miray QSFP28-100G-ER4  is a  high-performance  100Gb/s transceiver module designed for optical communication applications, fully compliant with the Ethernet 100GBASE-ER4 Lite standard. This module efficiently converts four input channels of 25Gb/s electrical data into four channels of LAN WDM optical signals, which are then multiplexed into a single  channel  for  100Gb/s  optical transmission. On the receiver side, the module demultiplexes a 100Gb/s optical input back into four LAN WDM optical channels and converts them into four output channels of electrical data.

The four LAN WDM channels operate at central wavelengths of 1295.56nm, 1300.05nm, 1304.58nm, and 1309. 14nm, adhering to the LAN WDM wavelength grid specified in the IEEE 802.3ba standard. Equipped with high-performance cooled LAN WDM EML transmitters and high-sensitivity APD receivers, the QSFP28-100G-ER4 delivers exceptional performance for 100 Gigabit  Ethernet applications. It supports link distances of up to 30 km without Forward Error Correction (FEC) and up to 40 km with FEC enabled.

Designed in compliance with the QSFP+  Multi-Source Agreement(MSA),  the module features a standardized form factor, optical/electrical connections, and a digital diagnostic interface. Built to withstand the most demanding external operating conditions, the QSFP28-100G-ER4 ensures reliable performance across a wide range of temperatures, humidity levels, and EMI interference, making it an ideal solution for robust and high-speed optical communication networks.

100G Long-Reach Optical Transport for Carrier and Enterprise Networks
The QSFP28-100G-ER4 transceiver is built to deliver dependable 100GbE optical transport across long-distance single-mode fiber links, making it a strong choice for backbone upgrades, data center interconnects, metro edge deployments, and high-capacity aggregation layers. Designed for B2B environments that require stable throughput, controlled power use, and operational visibility, this transceiver helps network teams extend 100G services without adding unnecessary complexity. For buyers evaluating products from optical transceiver manufacturers or aligning infrastructure with top network switch manufacturers, this module provides a practical balance of reach, standards compliance, and deployment efficiency in a hot-pluggable QSFP28 form factor.

Standards-Based ER4 Performance with Diagnostic Visibility
Compliant with 100GBASE-ER4 Lite, the module converts four 25Gb/s electrical lanes into four LAN WDM optical channels and multiplexes them for 100Gb/s transmission over duplex LC single-mode fiber. It supports an operating data rate of 103.125Gbps, uses a single +3.3V power supply, and maintains max power dissipation of 2.5W for efficient system integration. The unit supports up to 30km on G.652 SMF without FEC and up to 40km with FEC, while 4-channel PIN receivers and built-in DOM functionality provide the monitoring required for link health, fault isolation, and routine maintenance. For operators managing dense chassis, core network switch platforms, or high-performance ethernet switch environments, these specifications support stable optical performance with measurable operational control.

Well-Suited for Switch Uplinks, Aggregation, and Industrial Fiber Expansion
This module fits organizations that need long-range 100G uplinks between core sites, campus distribution layers, carrier POPs, or industrial communication nodes where fiber distance and uptime matter. It is especially relevant for teams sourcing through industrial ethernet switch manufacturers or integrating mixed optical inventories that may also include an sfp module, high-density core switching, or uplink paths from a poe switch into aggregation infrastructure. With commercial operating temperature support from 0°C to 70°C, duplex LC connectivity, and QSFP28 hot-pluggable deployment, it is well-suited for planned upgrades, capacity expansion, and standardized spare strategies where buyers need reliable 100G optics that align with enterprise and service-provider operating models.

Key Advantages

Stable 100G Long-Distance Transmission
This transceiver supports 100GBASE-ER4 optical transmission over single-mode fiber with reach up to 40km when FEC is enabled, which gives enterprises a practical way to build stable long-haul links between core cabinets, buildings, or metro access points. By converting four 25Gb/s electrical lanes into LAN WDM optical signals and integrating DOM for real-time status monitoring, it helps network teams maintain predictable link performance, identify signal issues early, and reduce troubleshooting time in high-capacity network switch deployments.

Reliable Integration and Maintenance Efficiency
The hot-pluggable QSFP28 form factor, duplex LC interface, and compliance with 100G Ethernet standards make this module well-suited for structured deployment with equipment from optical transceiver manufacturers, top network switch manufacturers, and enterprise-grade ethernet switch platforms. Its low power consumption, commercial operating range, and built-in diagnostics support stable service operation while simplifying replacement, inspection, and capacity expansion, which is important for operators managing dense fiber links, aggregation layers, or mixed environments that may also include sfp module and poe switch infrastructure.

Use Scenarios

Campus and Enterprise Backbone Links
In campus networks, business parks, or multi-building enterprise environments, IT teams often need to extend 100G uplinks across long single-mode fiber runs where ordinary short-reach modules cannot meet the distance requirement. This module serves as the optical link component between aggregation and core network switch equipment, providing stable 1310nm transmission and DOM visibility, so it is well-suited for organizations that need reliable backbone capacity, controlled maintenance, and compatibility with equipment sourced from top network switch manufacturers.

Industrial and Service Provider Fiber Aggregation
In industrial communication rooms, utility sites, and carrier access nodes, operators need dependable high-bandwidth connections that can support remote cabinets and distributed network segments with clear fault visibility. This QSFP28 module fits that role by offering long-distance single-mode transmission, hot-pluggable maintenance convenience, and a practical interface for integration with systems from industrial ethernet switch manufacturers and other optical transceiver manufacturers, making it a reliable choice for aggregation layers where uptime, structured deployment, and efficient module replacement are important.

FAQ

Q1. Will this transceiver work with our existing 100G network switch infrastructure?
The module is designed for 100Gb/s optical communication and complies with 100GBASE-ER4 Lite. We recommend verifying your host port supports QSFP28 and the required FEC setting, since our unit reaches up to 30km without FEC and 40km with FEC.

Q2. Can we use this module for long-distance single-mode fiber links in enterprise or carrier networks?
Yes, this transceiver is intended for G.652 SMF deployments using duplex LC interfaces and 1310nm transmission. Our module supports up to 30km reach without FEC and up to 40km with FEC, making it practical for extended 100G backbone links.

Q3. Do you provide diagnostic functions for monitoring link performance and maintenance planning?
The unit includes built-in digital diagnostic monitoring, so we can support operational visibility during deployment and service. Our DOM function helps users track module status data for maintenance workflows common to professional optical networks and sfp module management.

Q4. Is this product suitable for standard commercial operating environments in equipment rooms?
Operating temperature is specified from 0°C to 70°C with a single +3.3V power supply and maximum power dissipation of 2.5W. We position this module for commercial environments where stable thermal control is available, rather than unspecified harsh industrial conditions.

Q5. Can this QSFP28 module integrate with equipment sourced from optical transceiver manufacturers or industrial ethernet switch manufacturers?
Compatibility depends on whether your platform supports QSFP28 100G ER4 Lite operation, LAN WDM optical architecture, duplex LC connectivity, and the applicable FEC mode. We advise matching host specifications carefully when integrating with third-party switching or optical transport equipment.
